Earthing Earthling

You may have heard of it. Then again, maybe not. It isn't necessarily pop-culture... yet, but it is gaining more of a following. I'm talking about the growing movement called "Earthing"! According to earthing.com "Just as the sun gives us warmth and vitamin D, the Earth underfoot gives us food and water, a surface to walk, sit, stand, play, and build on, and something you never, ever thought about—an eternal, natural, and gentle energy."



The sad truth is that humanity as a whole is being isolated from our natural connection to the Earth, due to the non-conductive materials such as wood, concrete, rubber, tile, etc. and that leaves us feeling disconnected, imbalanced and unhealthy. By making direct contact with the Earth with our bare feet or hands, we receive a direct charge of energy that gives us an immediate boost.


It is a known fact that the sun provides us with warmth, light and vitamin D. In turn, the Earth provides us with fresh air, water, food, and a surface to live on. Throughout most of our history humans have walked, sat and slept on the ground, cultivated their lands and soils with bare hands and spent a lot of their time grounded in nature. Add to this the fact that we are also immersed in a sea of man-made electronic radiation from household appliances, mobile phones, wi-fi, microwaves and 5G cell towers. The Earth’s energy helps to knock the excess free radicals caused by these various devices down so that your body can naturally heal and repair.  We must keep our modern lifestyle in check or it could potentially destroy our lives altogether.



OTHER WAYS TO EARTH:

-Swim in the ocean or lakes

-Garden w/bare hands

-Lay on the Earth

-Hug living trees

-Lean up against living trees

-Sleep on the earth while camping

-Wear natural-soled shoes instead of synthetic rubber/plastic shoes


"Earthing" is also known as "Grounding". When we think of the word "grounded", we may also think of "balance" which is the key to a good and healthy life. Spending some time in the park each day barefoot, perhaps slipping your shoes off during your morning stroll with your dog, or in the afternoon while you watch your kids play in the yard. A few minutes of connection with the earth each day will make a world of difference in your life!
